Why Hemp?

Hemp is an excellent insulating material in its own right.  It is made from the stalks of the hemp plant which are naturally high in cellulose, a material that is known for its insulating properties.  It is renewable, biodegradable, and non-toxic, as well as resistant to fire, pests, and mould, which makes it a safe and healthy choice for insulation.

Hemp is a sustainable crop that requires fewer resources to grow than many other crops. It requires less water and fewer pesticides than cotton and can grow in a variety of climates.

In addition, Hemp is known to be a carbon-negative crop, meaning that it has the ability to take in more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than it emits during its lifecycle. The amount of carbon that hemp can sequester depends on several factors such as the growing conditions, cultivation practices, and the final use of the harvested hemp.
